Fredrikstad FK is looking for players and Fredrikstad Foball Invest is there to Help

Fredrikstad Fotball Invest (FFI) has the money and is willing to make it available for the Norwegian football club Fredrikstad FK to invest in players during the transfer window.

The company is looking for new investors and is hoping to use this to offer even greater support to the football club to ensure that the club makes the right moves when it comes to getting players.

FFI was founded in 2018 and works quite similarly to the investment company for fellow Norwegian club Sarpsborg 08.

Essentially, the company gets investment from individuals with a passion for the club such as local businessman Tor Anders Petterøe and his son and media company Golden Touch Media. This investment is then used to help the club without directly owning the club.

However, the club does have an agreement to cough up 30% of the fees for players while also receiving 30% of sales. It also pays a fixed amount for signing players from the youth system into professional contracts.

When it was founded, FFI bought 20% of the player pool and went on to raise more money in 2020. Additional shares in the company were sold at the end of 2021 and the company now has over 70 shareholders.

In its third year, FFI is now turning a profit and the future looks bright.

Leaving Fredrikstad FK to Do Their Thing

While FFI and Fredrikstad FK have an agreement around the percentages for the buying and selling of players, the club itself is fully in charge of its transfer policy and while the company is in regular talks with the club’s management, FFI doesn’t try to meddle.

The transfer window opens on August 1st and the club is looking to make a splash. Since the Norwegian league runs during a single calendar year, most players’ contracts end towards the end of the year rather than during the summer like across a lot of Europe’s other leagues.

Because of this, anyone looking to acquire new players will need to cough up some cold, hard cash to pay for transfer fees and FFI will be providing some of that.

Fredrikstad FK’s Current Transfer Policy

In this transfer window, the club is looking to strengthen the squad with players that will slot straight into the first team. The club isn’t looking to acquire players to add to a rotation system as they already feel that they’re strong in that area.

There’s also a focus on acquiring young players to start building towards the future and FFI’s funding has already helped the club to retain good young players with professional contracts rather than losing them to other clubs.

For this window, FFI will be looking to repeat last year’s transfer successes where they acquired Noa Williams and Adnan Hadzic, who are considered among the club’s best players.

With FFI’s goal being to support Fredrikstad FK as the club aims to recapture some of its former glory in the long-term, loan players aren’t part of the strategy.
